Oh, did you know that tonight isn’t the only show that we’ve got going on this weekend at Black Sheep? That’s right – there is one happening this Sunday too on April 15th. It’s a nice acoustic show. This one features a touring artist – Aaron James from Memphis, Tennessee. Stream some of Aaron’s music on the player below. We also have Aaron’s twin brother Alec James on the show. Just kidding, the two aren’t actually related. Alec is an acoustic singer / songwriter from here in Springfield. Kate Laine will be performing as well, and has been sounding better than ever since performing as a duo with The Studio Show’s Arlin Peebles! Last one we have on the bill is HECK aka Hannah Songer from Bloomington/Normal. We are not sure the order of performers for this one.
This show will start at 7:00 pm and admission is $5. Check out a facebook event for this one right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page for a good look at what else is coming up at Black Sheep this spring (we are currently working on updating the calendar).
How’s it going everyone? Tonight is a pretty special night going down at Black Sheep and Southtown – tonight we are celebrating one year of Southtown Sound in operation. There are a whopping six bands performing tonight all as a showcase of bands that have recorded in Southtown Sound over this past year. At the top of the bill is the bottom bracket, Bottom Bracket. They released a five-song self titled EP recorded at the studio last summer. We also have Ghoul Jr. from Champaign. The band recorded a four song release in the studio last year, which you can find on the player below. Before them is Taylorville’s own Stick People. You know you love them. Monterrey from North West Indiana is also playing who also recorded in the studio this past year. Spell Breaker is also playing – the Springfield band that has evolved and grown so much over the years with a very unique sound of their own. Opening things up is Rockford – a band that has recorded in the studio but has not yet released any recordings!!!
That’s six bands tonight- all starting at 6:30 pm and for an admission of $6. Check out a facebook event for this one right here. Also be sure to check out our shows page for a good look at other things coming up at Black Sheep this spring?
