It looks like 217hiphop.com and The Kick-It-Coalition are hard at work setting up a big event next weekend incorporating some Southtown spaces – Dumb Records and Black Sheep – as well as the new HISO Music Recording Studio. We are excited to be working with all of those different groups on this event, being called the “Midwest Industry Insiders Conference” geared more towards those interested in an inside look at the entertainment industry from a hip hop and R&B standpoint. The conference is going to be an all day thing with different events taking place at the different locations. Let’s take a look at what’s planned:

2:00 – 4:00 pm inside Dumb Records:
A panel discussion with some of the Midwest’s foremost authorities on entertainment business with topics such as, the pros and cons of major label record deals, how to fund a national tour, and how to properly own and distribute your music.

4:00 – 6:00 pm inside HISO Studios:
A listening and writing session with Gold Selling songwriters and recording artists, Da Twin Towerz who are responsible for co-writing Drake and Rihanna‘s hit single “Too Good”, plus have written for or collaborated with such artists as R. Kelly, Katy Perry, and French Montana, The session will include live feedback on local artist music as well as a chance to write and produce a new music.

7:00 – 10:00 pm at Black Sheep:
An artist showcase where fans and artists will catch a live performance from Da Twin Towerz plus performances from Trap Republic Records artists. Those artists who sign-up will perform a 6 minute set in front of our special guest judges or a chance to walk away with promotinal packages and an up to $500 cash prize! (Showcase slots are limited)

Wow, that’s a pretty packed day! Check out a facebook event with more info on how you can get involved right here. Looks like all of these events are open to the public. Also be sure to check out our shows page for a good look at everything else coming up at Black Sheep and Dumb Records this winter.
